PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater heater which can control water temperature with high accuracy, and whose attitude in water can be set with a high degree of freedom. SOLUTION: This underwater heater comprises a cylindrical heater tube 10, whose both ends in the longitudinal direction are closed, heat-generating wires 12, 13 received in the heater tube 10, and a water-temperature sensor 24 for detecting water temperature. A hollow projected portion 23 is projected from the longitudinal end of the heater tube 10 directed toward the outside of the longitudinal direction.
