The invention relates to an illuminated panel having a high optical output and including light emitting diodes (LEDs) and a rigid substrate which insulates the light emitting diodes from the atmosphere outside the panel and which comprises a substrate made from glass selected from extra-clear glass with a low iron content (<250 ppm). The invention also relates to the use of the panel as a lighting panel or as a decorative panel.
