<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purified gene encoding a T cell surface antigen originating from a mammal, a reagent related to the purified gene including a purified protein, a specific antibody and a nucleic acid encoding the antigen. <P>SOLUTION: A purified gene encoding a T cell surface antigen originating from a mammal, a reagent related to the purified gene including a purified protein, a specific antibody, and a nucleic acid encoding the antigen are provided. Methods of using the reagent and a diagnostic kit are also provided.
