<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a syringe which retracts a needle after single-use of the syringe and prevents the needle from stinging. <P>SOLUTION: A single-use retractable syringe 10 has a handle 38 and a plunger 40. The handle activates a retractable mechanism as the plunger and when the handle moves forward across a front injection completion position. Although a positive lock structure 66 allows the handle to be extracted backward and to fill a variable fluid chamber, and allows the handle to move forward once and to empty the variable fluid chamber, it controls the posterior movement of a needle holding tube and/or the handle and causes a loss of possibility to use the syringe again. The positive lock structure is a stopper in a syringe barrel and allows a part which swells in the diameter direction of the needle holding tube to pass through the lock structure when it moves forward and has the handle which can be separated into two parts.
