PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for managing an effective period and for erasing information of which the effective period has expired to prevent a copied medium from being used for unintended applications against the intention of a copyright holder, when temporary recording or copying information of which the copying is prohibited or is permitted only once is permitted. SOLUTION: A holding period for indicating the effective period in the recording medium, a viewing period for indicating the effective period after starting reproduction, and a copying period for permitting copying to other media are set as permission conditions of temporary recording. It is permitted that for even those of which the copying is prohibited information is moved to other media supposing that information in the medium is erased.
