PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission capable of making a transmission case compact. SOLUTION: A hydraulic control circuit 31 is arranged so as to be obliquely downwardly inclined toward a rear side of a vehicle body. Further, a valve drive shaft 16 and a manual shaft 14 are arranged in the forwardly falling state. A parking gear 22 is fitted to a secondary shaft 24 of a planetary gear mechanism, and a parking rod 19 for driving a parking pole 21 engaged with the parking gear 22 is arranged on an upper side of a primary shaft 26 in a state adjacent to that.
