PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle speed limiting device enabling the security of degree of freedom in driving and the maintenance of high drivability by a driver, while restraining an overshoot of a vehicle speed. SOLUTION: When an actual vehicle speed SPD exceeds a limited vehicle speed LtO, speed control by driving operation of the driver is limited, and its maximum speed is limited up to the limited vehicle speed LtO or its vicinity. Such a vehicle speed limiting device comprises a program for detecting the timing t1 being time when a vehicle speed reaches a predetermined high speed, a program for starting (performing) acceleration reduction control based on its timing t1, a program for detecting the timing t2 when acceleration being a control object is reduced up to a predetermined level when performing its acceleration reduction control, and a program for stopping the acceleration reduction control based on its timing t2, by comparing a threshold value (a control threshold value Lt1) set on the lower speed side than the limited vehicle speed LtO with the actual vehicle speed SPD.
