PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a thermoplastic resin foam molded body excellent in surface smoothness. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method, a thermoplastic resin foam sheet 1 is further expanded by using a pair of sealable form blocks for manufacturing the thermoplastic resin foam molded body. The manufacturing method at least comprises the following (1) to (4) processes: (1) a process for heating and softening the thermoplastic resin foam sheet, (2) a process for arranging the thermoplastic resin foam sheet 1 heated and softened in the process (1) on a porous member 4 of the foam block in which a part of an inner wall face is formed of the porous member 4 so that one face of the sheet 1 contacts the porous member, (3) a process for expanding the thermoplastic resin foam sheet by sealing and decompressing inside the form blocks and shaping the desired thermoplastic resin foam molded body 7, and (4) a process for returning the form blocks to normal pressure and removing the thermoplastic resin foam molded body 7 from the form blocks.
