Provided is an image signal processing device capable of reproducing an image displayed on a PDP. When an image signal is displayed in a display device of display type other than PDP, an image processing unit (1) performs at least one of the following image signal processes so that the image looks as if it were displayed on the PDP display device: a color shift caused by lighting in the order of RGB is reproduced; a dither pattern applied in a spatial direction is reproduced; a dither pattern applied in a temporal direction is reproduced; a space between pixel pitches is reproduced; and stripe arrangement is reproduced. The present invention may be applied to a case when an image appearing as an image displayed by PDP is displayed on an LCD.
