The method involves wirelessly transmitting a trigger signal (5) to a vehicle -sided receiving device for an information query by using a vehicle external signaling device (3), where the trigger signal is provided as a radio signal or a light-optical signal. The relevant vehicle information is wirelessly transmitted to a vehicle external receiving device, which communicates with a computing device that serves for information verification by using a vehicle-sided signaling device. An independent claim is also included for a device for recording information of a motor vehicle during manufacturing of the motor vehicle for testing purpose.
