A motion detection device is provided to remove a color signal included in a one inter-frame differential signal, thereby improving detection precision of motion components. A frame memory(10) performs 1 frame delay of a video signal. A subtracter(12) outputs a difference between the video signal and the video signal delayed in the frame memory. A first vertical frequency filter(16) separates a predetermined frequency band for a frame vertical direction of the video signal from the output signal of the subtracter, and outputs the separated signal. A second vertical frequency filter(18) separates a frequency band, lower than the first vertical frequency filter, for a frame vertical direction of the video signal from the output signal of the subtractor and outputs the separated signal. A first horizontal LPF(Low Pass Filter)(20) separates a predetermined frequency band for a frame horizontal direction of the video signal from the output signal of the first vertical frequency filter, and outputs the separated signal. A second horizontal LPF(22) separates a frequency band, larger than the first horizontal LPF, for a frame horizontal direction of the video signal from the output signal of the second vertical frequency filter and outputs the separated signal. A synthesizer(38) synthesizes the output signal from the first horizontal LPF with the output signal of the second horizontal LPF, and outputs the synthesized signal. |
