A mute time control method is provided to set a mute mode when a special playing mode is selected and disable the mute mode after the special playing mode is released in order to prevent the pop noise generation during the special playing. A mute time control method comprises the steps of: setting a mute mode when content play or content special play is selected(S311,S321); judging whether the content play or content special play preparation is concluded after setting the mute mode(S313,S331,S333); and disabling the mute mode when the content play or content special play preparation is concluded (S341).
