<p>A remote controller of an air conditioner and a method for operating the same are provided to prevent reset of the remote controller due to momentary pressure drop caused by driving of a backlight of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) unit, by lowering brightness of the LCD unit or cutting off power supply provided to the backlight. A remote controller(100) of an air conditioner, which transmits an operation control signal to the air conditioner, comprises an input unit(110), an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) unit(120), a control unit(140), and a reset protection unit(180). The input unit is provided with at least one button. The LCD unit displays information of controlled state of the air conditioner. The control unit controls the input/output state through the display unit and LCD unit. The reset protection unit lowers the brightness of the LCD unit and blocks power supply to a backlight of the LCD unit, if a voltage level of a first power supplied to the control unit is below a predetermined reference voltage.</p> |
