A mobile terminal and a method for adjusting a sound volume for a call of the mobile terminal are provided to avoid a problem that a sound volume for a call of a reception terminal varies according to communication service providers of an origination terminal and the reception terminal and to output the optimum sound quality to a user. A controller receives a call connection request signal including an ID of a communication service provider of an origination terminal via a communication unit(S801) and recognizes the ID of the communication service provider(S802). The controller searches a sound volume value of a call corresponding to the ID of the communication service provider of the origination terminal from sound volume value table for calls of IDs of communication service providers provided in a memory(S803). If the searched sound volume value of the call is not the same as a pre-set sound volume value(S804), the controller adjusts the searched sound volume for the call such that it is the same as the pre-set sound volume value(S805). The controller controls a speaker to output a call voice of the origination terminal with the adjusted size of the sound volume value of the call(S806).
