A reel unit of a spinning reel is provided to fix a cover member easily and to prevent a screw member from being exposed to the rear side by fixing the cover member by settling a front end portion of a boss unit at an intermediate member that is not moved for a reel body. A reel unit of a spinning reel comprises a reel body(2a), a cover member, a body guard(26), and a holding member(27). The reel body comprises a receiving space of which the lateral side is opened; a first fitting hole(2q) communicating with the receiving space; and a second fitting hole(2j) disposed on the opposite side of the first fitting hole to communicate with the receiving space. The cover member is detachably installed at the reel body to stop up the receiving space. The body guard is installed from the rear side to cover the reel body and the cover member and provided with a boss unit(26a) protruded toward the inside of the receiving space from the rear side of the reel body through the first fitting hole. The holding member is installed at the reel body in the receiving space not to move. The holding member holds a first screw member(28) fixed at the front end portion of the boss unit in the receiving space.
