Telecommunications system with link adaptation

The system has an emitter for transmitting data packets to destination of a receiver (115). The receiver has an error detection code calculating unit (220) for detecting whether a received data packet is incorrect. The receiver has a cut detection unit (225) for determining whether a non-ergodic channel between the emitter and the receiver is in cutting situation in case of detection of the incorrect packet, and for transmitting a signal (OUTAGE/NOUTAGE) indicating the situation. The emitter modifies transmission conditions in response to the signal.
