A backlight control device for an LCD is provided to increase a backlight driving frequency, acquire the temporarily divided driving frequencies, and light backlight LEDs(Light Emitting Diodes) by a lamp dithering type. An LED backlight unit emits a backlight to an LCD on a liquid crystal panel by using an LED. A luminance analyzing unit(31) extracts a data bit for lamp control from input data to analyze luminance for an input image. A lamp lighting control unit(32) spatially divides LEDs on the LED backlight unit, generates lamp driving data corresponding to the data bit for lamp control, and outputs the lamp driving data as a lamp control signal to the LED of a corresponding division region per every frame. |
