The invention relates to a method for producing a weld (126) on a wall (138) of an article, especially a sink. The aim of the invention is to improve said method in order to produce especially high-quality welds. The inventive method comprises the following steps: producing a welding bead (132) between two wall elements (138) to be connected to each other; trimming the weld by partially melting the material of the welding bead and/or of the material of the adjoining wall elements, thereby producing a smoothed transition between the wall elements and the weld.
