A human motion tracking system and a method therefor are provided to acquire image information of a moved person more easily from an inputted image frame. A motion region extracting unit(120) compares respective pixels of an inputted previous frame and a current frame, and extracts at least one motion region from the frame. A human image region discriminating unit(130) discriminates at least one human image region on the basis of a set human image feature among the motion regions. A window setting unit(140) adds respective windows including the discriminated respective human image regions. A human image motion producing unit(150) compares the windows added to the previous frame and the current frame, and produces motion information of a human image included in the human image regions. A storage(200) stores an input image(210) through an image input unit(110), and stores motion region information(220) including the pixels which have movement for each frame and extracted from the motion region extracting unit. |
