An extract of a mixture of Coriolus versicolor and Astragalus membranaceus Bunge is provided to show improving effect on cytotoxicity and acute liver disorders induced by CCl4, improve GOT and GPT in a liver cirrhosis experiment using DMN and decrease collagenous fiber, thereby being usefully used as a composition for preventing and treating liver diseases. A pharmaceutical composition or a health functional food for preventing and treating liver diseases comprises an extract of a mixture consisting of Coriolus versicolor and Astragalus membranaceus Bunge in a dried weight ratio of 0.1-10:1 as an effective ingredient. The composition further comprises at least one extract of Schizandrae fructus or Artemisia iwayomogi. Further, the extract is extracted by a solvent selected from water, carbon number 1 to 4 of lower alcohol or a mixture thereof. |
