A method for correcting a frequency of an audio signal, and a mobile terminal are provided to adjust a frequency of an audio signal in consideration of the sense of hearing of a user. An optimum reaction frequency, an index with respect to the characteristics of a sense of hearing of a person who listens to an audio signal, is set(S10). If a correction limitation frequency is set, it is checked whether a shift range of a frequency of an audio signal is within the range of the correction limitation frequency(S20,S30). If the shift range of the frequency of the audio signal is within the range of the correction limitation frequency, the audio signal is corrected through frequency shifting(S40).
