A groove 23 is provided in the periphery of a pressure receiving area of a pressure receiving surface (22, fig 4) opposing a radial load W within a bearing surface 21 supporting a rotor 5. A liquid supply route 24 communicates with the groove 23 and is provided so that liquid is supplied to the groove 23 through the liquid supply inlet 24. The groove 23 may or may not be continuous and is preferably formed by two grooves in the circumferential direction (23a, 23b, fig 4) and two grooves in the axial direction (23c, 23d, fig 4). In such an arrangement, a bearing having a simple structure and a high compact load capacity and a liquid cooling type screw compressor using the above bearing is provided. |
