An interactive communication method between communication terminals, a server, and an interactive television network are provided to apply a service to a variable environment, to the performance of a network and a terminal, and to media in use. A television program(1) is broadcast via a network(2), e.g., a DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcast transmission-Handheld terminal). An end user determines to discuss with people of a community by using an MSCTV(Mobile Smart Chat TV) service. The end user(3) selects a predefined rule or defines its rules for selecting community members by itself. The end user is in contact with a server(5) to apply predefined rules or define its rules. For example, the end user selects an option of 'discussion with acquaintances', and the end user may receive a list of people located nearby and select persons with which it does not want conversation. The end user may select automatic rules applied for a case where a situation changes, such as changing of a voice mode to a text mode when it enters a public area. When establishment of a session is set, the MSCTV service is operable and conversation can start.
