The method involves producing hot gas by oxidation of an active material contained in a reactional module working according to successive periods using oxidation, scavenging and reduction phases by contacting through respective successive circulation of the oxidation gas. The phases of contacting by circulation of oxidation and scavenging gases are separated by stopping circulation for a determined duration in order to increase the time of contact of the oxidation gas on the active material.
