A data receiving method and apparatus using a plurality of antennas in a communication system are provided to optimize a data reception rate in consideration of the location of a terminal. An interference signal controller(510) measures the components of signals received from each antenna, and determines a reception signal combining method according to the interference amount of channels. An antenna path selector(517) selects paths of signals received from the antennas according to the reception signal combining method. The first and second signal combiners(519,521) combine the signals transmitted from the antenna path selector according to the selected reception signal combining method. The first and second signal combiners include an MRC(Maximum Ratio Combining) method and an MMSE(Minimum Mean Square Error) method.
