A disk brake for a vehicle is provided to allow a friction pad to be automatically separated from a disk when a braking operation ends. A disk brake for a vehicle comprises a disk(10) rotating together with wheels of a vehicle. Friction pads(20a,20b) are provided at both sides of the disk to generate braking force. A wedge member(50) has one surface attached to the friction pads and the other surface serving as wedge surfaces(51,52) inclined with respect to the disk. A guide member(70) has guide surfaces(71,72) corresponding to the wedge surfaces and increases the braking force in combination with the wedge member. A driving motor(60) is provided at one side of the guide member to move the friction pads toward the disk. A power transmission member(80) is provided between the guide member and the driving motor to convert rotation movement of the driving motor to linear movement.
