An electrostatic paint spraying device 10 comprises a pre-pressurised paint canister (16, Fig 2), containing paint (27), and fluidly connected to a nozzle, itself comprises a spray head having a plurality of channels from which paint is propelled. Device 10 has a main body casing 12, an end surround, 13, and inner shell (14), a cover (22), battery cover 200. Channels may be arranged parallel to each other and have a ratio of 40-60 channels per 100mm length, and nozzle may include an integrated charging electrode and release valve. A battery power supply pack 17, 19 may be integrated in to the arrangement to supply operational power. Paint canister may be inclined at an angle of up to 90 degrees relative to the horizontal. A method of electrostatically spraying a target with paint, and utilising paint with a conductivity of 75-450sSm<-1> and a viscosity of 1.5-3.5 Poise. Operational electrode voltage is between 27-33kV. |
