摘要 An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to increase the reduction effect of coloring significantly at the slant direction by using the first biaxial optical anisotropic layer. In first and second polarizing members(11,12), a transmission shafts are crossed and arranged at a right angle. A liquid crystal layer(13) is arranged between the polarizing member pair and aligned nearly and vertically when displaying the black. The LCD comprises also the first optical anisotropic layer(14) and the second optical anisotropic layer(15). The first optical anisotropic layer is a biaxial anisotropic layer. In the first optical anisotropic layer, the retardation within the surface at the wavelength of 400nm~700nm and the retardation toward the thickness direction are large at the long wavelength. In the second optical anisotropic layer, the retardation Re at the wavelength of 550nm within the surface and the retardation Rth toward the thickness direction satisfy the predetermined condition such as 0nm10.
