Irregular display mechanism for a timepiece

The mechanism has a cam with a periphery of preset shape and driven by a base wheel with a horological movement. A lever pivots between positions associated with preset values of an indication relating to time or timepiece functioning. The lever carries a sensing finger to engage with the periphery to define an indicative position at a given moment and carries a rack to engage with a pinion to drive a display unit. The periphery is designed so that the cam rotation by a given rotation angle causes variable movement of the unit dependent on the angular position of the cam relative to the frame. An independent claim is also included for a timepiece.
