Method for rotating and scaling an image and corresponding apparatus

An improved method and apparatus shall be provided for rotating and scaling an image. According to the suggested method an original image having a first and a second dimension (u, v) is scaled in the first dimension (v) to obtain a first processing image (INTER_Image_0) in a first computation step. In a second computation step the first processing image (INTER_Image_0) is scaled in the second dimension (u) and simultaneously sheared depending on a given rotation angle to obtain a second processing image (INTER_Image_1). A final third computation step serves for shearing the second processing image (INTER_Image_1) depending on the given rotation angle in the first dimension (v) to obtain a scaled rotated image (OUT Image). The complete rotation and scaling only needs three processing steps.
