A golf club head is provided to restrain the driving distance from being reduced in hitting a golf ball in an off-center state by covering the distribution of hitting points of an armature golfer by the shape of a faceplate. A golf club head is composed of an opening(8) formed at a face part(2) of a metal head body(1) having an inner hollow part(10), to communicate with the hollow part and a metal faceplate welded to the opening. Cut parts(8A,8B) connected to the opening are formed at a portion of a toe(6) of a crown unit(3) and a portion of a heel(7) of a sole unit. The upper end of the faceplate is extended to cover the cut part of the crown unit and the lower end is welded to cover the cut part of the sole unit. |
