Fastening tool with automatic feeding of wire-collated fasteners

A fastening tool (10) with a magazine assembly (14) for holding and dispensing collated fasteners (500). The magazine assembly (14) includes a canister (200) and a door (402) that is hingedly coupled to a nosepiece (18). The canister (200) includes a stationary portion (212) and a movable portion (214) that may be moved relative to the stationary portion (212) to permit access to an interior of the canister (200), e.g., for loading the fasteners (500) into the canister (200). The door (402) cannot be moved from a closed position to an open position and vice versa without first opening the canister (200). A method for loading a magazine is also provided.
