A vegetation mattress is provided to enable environmentally-friendly afforestation by using coconut and to allow water and nutrients to be supplied to plants. A vegetation mattress(10) comprises: pots(12) which are formed by a perforator and placed at fixed distances on the upper side of the vegetation mattress, wherein a vegetation hole(13) is formed in the center of each pot. The vegetation mattress is made of coconut and filled with culture soil by high pressure, wherein the culture soil contains a high-molecular water-retaining agent and nutrients(nitrogen, phosphoric acid, and calcium). The vegetation mattress further comprises staples(14) for maintaining the shape of the mattress and allowing it to be conveniently fixed to a flower tower, an inclined slope, or a wall. A method for planting flowers or trees in the vegetation mattress without using the pots comprises the steps of separating each pot from the vegetation mattress, putting culture soil in pot-inserting holes, planting a flower(30) or a tree in each pot-inserting hole, inserting a sponge formed with a cut groove into the upper part of each pot-inserting hole, and sticking fixing pins into the sponge. |
