MULTI-WAVELENGTH RAMAN FIBER LASER WITH ASYMMETRIC CAVITIES AND FIBER OPTIC COMMUNICATION SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME

A multi-wavelength Raman fiber laser having asymmetric cavities and a fiber optic communication system including the same are provided to form the cavities by using a fiber grating reflector having a narrow wavelength band and a fiber grating reflector having a wide wavelength band. A first cavity includes a first reflector(120) having a narrow wavelength band. A second cavity includes a second reflector(130) having a wide wavelength band including the wavelength of the first reflector so that the first and second reflectors have asymmetric wavelength characteristics. The first and second reflectors are composed of fiber Bragg gratings. The first reflector is composed of a tunable fiber Bragg grating. The second reflector is composed of a chirped fiber Bragg grating having a variable grating interval.
