ULTRA SLIM OPTICAL POINTING DEVICE

An ultra slim optical pointing device is provided to prevent an image sensor from performing incorrect operation or failure in an ultra slim mobile terminal by external factors while making the optical pointing device in a slim size. A cover plate(102) is touched by an object(101), and a light source(103) outputs light to the object at a side of the cover plate. A first mirror(105) horizontally reflects the light output from the light source, reflected on the object touching an upper surface of the cover plate, and reflected again to a downward direction. A condensing lens(107) condenses the light reflected on the first mirror. A second mirror(115) reflects the light received from the condensing lens to an upward direction. An optical image sensor(117) senses the light reflected from the second mirror at an upper part of the second mirror. The light source is an SMD(Surface Mounting Device) type infrared LED(Light Emitting Diode) mounted on a PCB(Printed Circuit Board)(109).
