A system for controlling a signal lamp to represent traffic conditions at an intersection is provided to prevent traffic congestion at the intersection by preventing entrance of vehicles to the intersection when the congestion of vehicles is generated in the intersection. A system for controlling a signal lamp to represent traffic conditions at an intersection includes a vehicle detecting unit(200) and a signal representing unit(500). The vehicle detecting unit which is installed at a side of the signal lamp, includes a first sensor for sensing vehicles driven along a straight lane in the intersection and a second sensor for sensing vehicles driven along a left turning lane in the intersection, and senses a rear portion of the vehicles. The signal representing unit includes plural light emitting diodes and a power line. The LEDs include a three-color signal lamp for representing red, yellow, and green, and an entrance forbidding signal lamp for representing an entrance forbidding signal to the intersection. The power line is used for supplying power to the light emitting diodes. |
