A steam cleaner is provided to prevent deterioration of heating performance of a heater while suppressing formation of scales on a water container by converting hard water to soft water using a water ionizer. A steam cleaner comprises a cleaner pad assembled on a bottom surface of a housing, and a steam unit installed within the housing for jetting steams to a surface to be cleaned. The steam unit comprises a water container(50), a cap(51), a water ionizer(80), a pump(60), and a heater(70). The water container comprises a water inlet on the upper side, and a drain hole on the lower side. The cap is configured to open and close the water inlet through which hard water is supplied. The water ionizer converts the hard water in the water container to soft water through ion exchange. The pump is connected to the water container. The heater generates steams for jetting by heating the water supplied by the pump.
