摘要 A method for manufacturing clay bricks is provided to form a uniform zinc oxide coating thin film on the clay brick, and to produce the clay bricks having photocatalytic function, antifouling property and good washability. A method for manufacturing clay bricks using a zinc oxide photocatalyst includes the steps of: (S100) mixing 30-60wt% of clay, 30-65wt% of white clay, and 2-3wt% of manganese oxide or iron oxide to form a mixture powder, adding water to the mixture powder to provide a water content of 16-18wt% and kneading the admixture, and extruding the kneaded material into a predetermined shape using a pug mill; (S200) mixing 100 parts by weight of bentonite with 150-400 parts by weight of an aqueous solution of zinc salt to produce a coating mixture; (S300) coating the surface of the molded material with the coating mixture in a thickness of 1-5 micron; (S400) cutting the molded material into a brick shape by a cutter; (S500) drying the cut bricks at 20-120 °C for 36-48 hours; and (S600) putting the dried bricks into an automatic furnace, preheating the bricks at 700-900 °C for 5-15 hours, and firing the bricks at 1100-1250 °C for 24-36 hours.
