An array substrate for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) as a switching device and a line by using the cheap silver compared to gold. A data line is extended toward a direction and made of silver on a substrate. Source and drain electrodes are separately formed with each other. A self assembled monolayer(117) is formed on the upper portion of the source and drain electrodes. A pixel electrode(118) is contacted with an end of the drain electrode. An organic semiconductor layer is formed on the upper portion of the self assembled monolayer and the separate area between the source and drain electrodes. A gate insulating layer and a gate electrode are stacked sequentially on the upper portion of the organic semiconductor layer. A passivation layer has a gate contact hole for exposing the gate electrode and the opening portion for exposing the pixel electrode. A gate line is formed on the passivation layer, contacted with the gate electrode through the gate contact hole and crossed with the data line.
