The spiral machining path (4) calculated in the step for calculating a spiral machining path is such a path that the spiral interval P(=P1, P2,...Pn) is an equal interval on the surface (5) of a lens to be machined, and the spiral interval d(=d1, d2,...dn) on an XY projection plane (100) increases continuously from the outer circumferential edge of the lens toward the center thereof. The cutting means cuts the surface (5) of a lens to be machined from the outer circumferential edge toward the center thereof along the spiral machining path (4). Consequently, the lens of spectacles having a lens surface with substantially uniform surface precision over the entire surface is obtained.
