Provided is a printing method capable of performing label printing on an optical recording medium to which address information is attached, with a suppressed position shift when performing an additional printing accompanying addition of recording data and capable of preferably performing a high-quality label printing. An optical recording medium (M) includes a recording/reproducing function layer capable of recording or reproducing by a laser beam, an information recording/reproducing surface (3) into which the laser beam comes, and a printing layer existing at the opposite side of the information recording/reproducing surface so as to sandwich the recording/reproducing function layer. Address information used upon recording or reproduction is recorded in the recording/reproducing function layer. The laser beam is applied to the information recording/reproducing surface (3) to detect the address information and printing is performed on the printing layer by using the detected address information.
