Spark ignition engine e.g. oil engine, for vehicle, has determination unit permitting to obtain markers of molecular structure of fuel by using fuel sensor, and management system adjusting value of angle of spark advance from markers

The engine has an electronic engine control module (ECU) comprising a management system to manage a spark advance. A determination unit determines molecular structure of fuel supplied to the engine, and permits to obtain markers (c1, c2) of the structure by using a fuel sensor (FS). The management system adjusts a value of angle of the spark advance from the markers of the structure. The markers are related or correlated with a self-ignition delay of the fuel.
