An apparatus for manufacturing an electric resistance welded steel pipe, which is capable of ensuring good weld quality through imparting of an appropriate taper configuration to a width end region of band plate prior to electric resistance welding for an electric resistance welded steel pipe. There is provided an apparatus for manufacturing an electric resistance welded steel pipe, satisfying at least either the requirement (1) of disposing cutting or grinding means (3) posterior to leveler (2) or the requirement (2) of disposing at least one fin pass forming stand (4) fitted with a fin having at least two stages of taper configuration.
