A semiconductor memory, an operation method of a semiconductor memory, a memory controller and a system are provided to reduce power consumption, by changing a memory region to be refreshed without degrading execution efficiency of access cycle. A plurality of memory blocks have a dynamic memory cell. A refresh register(16) stores prohibition block information indicating a memory block(MBLK0- MBLK6) prohibiting refresh operation. A refresh control circuit performs refresh operation of a memory block except the memory block corresponding to the prohibition block information stored in the refresh register. A register control circuit writes the prohibition block information to the refresh register according to the external input, during one access cycle of the memory block.
