PWM PATTERN SEQUENCE FOR REDUCING LOSS OF VOLTAGE SOURCE INVERTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PWM pattern sequence for reducing the loss of a voltage source inverter.

SOLUTION: In a method of controlling an inverter, a sequence in a prescribed state is used. Each sequence uniquely corresponds to a set of control signals provided to the inverter connected to a motor. The method includes step of: applying a first center invalid timing sequence repetitively to provide a first set of prescribed sequences of control signals to the inverter successively; monitoring the zero cross state of current flowing between the inverter and the terminal of an AC motor; and shifting the repetitive application of the first center invalid timing sequence to that of a second center invalid timing sequence and for allowing the second center invalid timing sequence to prescribe a second set of prescribed sequences of control signals when monitoring the zero cross state of current detects a zero cross state.
