<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decoding device for which cost reduction is carried out by suppressing the maximum amount of data transfer that is needed when a video decoder performs decoding processing, per unit time duration from a memory, and which is capable of obtaining responses that are superior with respect to events from the outside, such as user operation, even if it shares memory with modules, such as CPU. <P>SOLUTION: The decoding device comprises a coding classification detection means, a decoding control means, and a decoding means, where a coding classification detection means detects a coding classification configuration of a plurality of encoding units, based on the data sequence, containing the plurality of encoding units each of which has a coding classification; A decoding control means determines a decoding processing time duration for each encoding unit so that the amount of memory accesses per unit time duration may be equalized on a time base during decoding the data sequence, based on the unique amount of memory accesses for each coding classification; and a decoding means that decodes each encoding unit, in accordance with the computed decoding processing time duration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
