PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an advanced booster rotor vane which minimizes the sacrifice of efficiency. SOLUTION: An airfoil (50) is composed of a leading edge (52) extending from a root (54) to a tip (55), an inner span region (155) and an outer span region (156). The leading edge includes a sweep angle profile so that the sweep angle increases from the root (54) to a first height location (151) at a first rate of change in which the sweep angle is substantially constant and thereafter increases at a second rate of a change in which the sweep angle is substantially constant.
