<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a keyboard lid opening/closing mechanism for keyboard instrument, having a simple structure, installed without the need for a large space in both the fore and aft directions inside the keyboard instrument, and imposing no restriction on the design, when designing the keyboard instrument, and to provide a keyboard instrument having the keyboard lid opening/closing mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A housing part 44, keyboard lid guide parts 38 and connection groove wall surfaces 38g as keyboard lid stopping parts are provided in a keyboard instrument for the purpose of housing a keyboard lid inside the keyboard instrument body 1. The keyboard lid guide parts 38 guide a projecting part of the keyboard lid located in a rear part of the inside of the keyboard instrument 1, along a back board 9 of the keyboard instrument 1, when the keyboard lid moves between a closed lid position and an opened lid position.
