PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision detection structure for an occupant crash protection device for a vehicle capable of accurately detecting vehicle collision in a shorter time and of easily determining the collision pattern. SOLUTION: Crash boxes 2a, 2b having lower resistance to collision impact than that of front side members 3a, 3b are connected to front ends of the pair of front side members 3a, 3b, respectively. In vicinity of the front ends of the respective front side members 3a, 3b, eddy-current sensors 4a, 4b are installed, respectively as collision detection sensors for detecting the collision at the time of vehicle collision.
