PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of modifying the surface of a substrate with a self-organizing compound, a structure obtained thereby and method of manufacturing this structure. SOLUTION: The method of modifying the surface of a substrate comprises bringing the substrate into contact with a self-organizing compound to modify the surface.
